Bouncing between structured songwriting and live improvisations, this quirky quintet gained notability in the Baltimore jam scene for their authentic, inspired performances as well as their love for, and commitment to, the local music community.

Voted "Baltimore's Best Band" (Baltimore Magazine,2024), 5 Spot’s distinctive sound is most appreciated for its spacious grooves and elastic lyricism. The group plays with collaborative dynamics of tension and release, using musicality as a way to expand the consciousness of each song’s deeper meaning.

5 Spot got their start as five unlikely pals playing a monthly residency at the Cat's Eye Pub. This unique experience allowed them 4-hour long "live rehearsals" where they could fine-tune their listening, communication, and overall performance in front of an audience of friends and strangers alike, all eager to boogie. These humble origins became a sturdy foundation for the band's development, attracting growing crowds, a deep sense of community, as well as opportunities to play increasingly larger stages and events in Baltimore and beyond.

If it sounds good, we're having fun, and keeping it sexy, then it's gotta be 5 Spot!
